Who would have thought when diagnosed with ALS that our dreams of parenthood would actually happen? What a blessing Miss. Annalise Margaret has been in her few days.
How do we keep Jason involved? I make sure Jason sees her first thing in the morning, gets love and kisses throughout the day, sees what outfit she is wearing, sees her before and after baths. He wakes up with us at night. I do all the feedings regardless-he just gets out of diaper duty! I talk him through what we are doing. He knows how much she is eating. He knows what is going on with her and has been to her doctor appointments. He is just like any father! I've tried to implement ways for him to "hold" her and love on her. We try to do "Daddy" time daily using the boppy pillow and a Dad shirt that he has. Of course, we have plans for down the road too when she is bigger with carriers and reading books too. We just take it day by day and see what works. He may even be more in the loop because we are home together all time time <3 There shouldn't be a milestone missed!
