Lake trip

The weekend of 1/19-1/21, we went to Lake Norman outside of Charlotte, NC to spend the weekend at a rental house with friends. It was a nice break. When you are away from home, you don't have to worry with cleaning or cooking or laundry or catching up on shows or just all those types of things. It is amazing that although we live in NC, Georgia, Florida, and Texas, and are starting families, that we are still making it work all these years later. Saturday was a full day of hanging out, with the kids playing games, playing in the left over snow from a few days prior, older ones going in the hot tub, decorating some cookies, and ending the night watching Rio 2. The adults hung out around the house with a BEAUTIFUL view! I baked and decorated a cookie cake for Daniel and Oscar's birthdays. I think everyone cooked something throughout the day, whether a meal or a snack for the Carolina (and Duke) games. Late night activities happened too, with camp fires and just more catching up.

Just loving that our group trips have evolved to family trips. Next year, we will add even more kids!
