I knew it had been a while since posting an update, because we started getting texts! Not that we don't normally get texts, but "how are things?" texts. I cannot believe it has been 2 weeks since we've been home.
For the most part, there is no update. We are doing great. We've spent 2 weeks getting into a routine and have been so blessed to have Jason's parents with us for the past 2 weeks. We have been able to spend quality time together, and having them here has really helped us get into that routine. I have also had meals every night that I would not necessarily make for myself. I mean-I am not going to pull out grill stuff every other night while just cooking for myself!
A few things that have happened in the past 2 weeks:

Within a few days of getting home, Jason's coworkers sent me beautiful flowers and Jason a "FANCHEST" I debate sometimes about posting gifts, because everything seems to be a gift-a text, a phone conversation, a card in the mail....Also, we know that people do not give gifts for acknowledgement, but because it will help us, make us laugh, show love BUT this picture (above) needs to be posted!
Diana and Jude cleaned out our fire pit-Jason would NEVER have let it get so messy and dirty, and it looks amazing! I cleaned out a flower bed and spent some quality outside time.
My friend Courtney sent us get well sunflowers-so bright and beautiful.
All 4 of us, Jackson, and a neighbor's dog Mylah, went for a walk at a nearby park for a few miles on May 10.
Jason and I went to the movies and saw The Wall on May 12. Only a few days home and only post-op day 11....the movie trip was awesome and surprisingly uneventful. We do not necessarily recommend the movie though!
Saturday, May 13, Daniel and Karen brought CAMILA!!! (she was born April 1) to come meet us. They were in this area for less than 24 hours from NC for a graduation celebration of a cousin. Even so, they made sure to stop and see us <3
Jason went back to work on May 15.
Diana and Jude painted the last room in our house-bedroom closet :) My mind likes organization, so I got many days of this while emptying, going through, and putting everything back in that closet. Another of Jason's "to do" list completed.
On May 16, I was able to use a gift card given to me by my high school girlfriends. A massage, facial, pedicure, lunch, and wine at Chateau Elan in Braselton, GA. I could not keep it toge
ther at lunch. I teared up several times looking at this view. I spent 6 hours away from home just enjoying being a woman, getting pampered, and being amazed at the love given by Liz Rodriguez, Jennifer Taylor, Ashley Stancil, Lauren Gregory, Jessica Briley, Brittany Zacks, Bethany Sykes, Melissa Peters, and Claire McFadyen (I realize all of us are married! Would have been easier for me to just use maiden names!)
Jason's coworker, Carlos, came by the house on May 17 and spent an hour catching up and talking about work. This was the longest Jason has been with the "cuff deflated" to be able to talk-an hour. Progress!!! They plan on coming by our house for a cookout in the next few weeks too.
On May 18, I went shopping. Using gift cards from Christmas and my birthday and just spending a few hours at the mall, while Jason's parents are here. Jason can go anywhere, but he really is not interested in spending hours at a mall!
Yesterday, our friends Cameron and Stacey brought lunch and spent a few hours with us. Also, Stacey gave me a much needed haircut. We love having them so close. They bring great humor whenever they come!
Being I'm mentioning gifts....we got a package WEEKS ago sent by my college girlfriends: Courtney Kalkhof, Morgan Jessup, and Bonnie Scoggins. Among the items were a Winc gift card (and other wine associated things for me!) and Amazon Echo (and other technology associated things for him!). New to the Echo is the ability to change TV channels using Alexa and voice commands. Hopefully, we can get around to programming it to do this this week being Jason is getting better at talking. We should also get another wine box in the mail this week!
While the first week, Rob, the respiratory therapist came daily to our house, we have "graduated" to weekly. We will see him Tuesday and hopefully will be cleared from such frequent visits.
I will be collecting materials for a new project to raise money for the Walk to Defeat ALS. My personal fund-raiser is selling ice cream at our neighborhood pool. I plan to start next weekend. THANK YOU to my Mama for making sure we had a freezer!
