To start, we are home! We got home around 11:30 this morning, and our at home respiratory therapist spent a few hours here getting us all set up.

We came home to such a sweet surprise from the neighbors! Oh my gosh...the tears I had in my eyes... And Jason was still outside when I saw it-he had only been outside once during the hospital stay.....
but I made him come in immediately to see it.
Such love in our 'hood!

We did say we were making it home! One luggage with clothes, several pillows, some snacks and honestly the rest were tons and tons of supplies!

On May 6, 2017, while we were in the hospital, a golf tournament took place at Pine Knolls in Kernersville, North Carolina in Jason's honor. This was Bender's Tavern 8th Annual Charity Golf Tournament to raise money for those in need. They picked 2 families to help, and we were one of them. Thank you Cameron and Amber Howard for being "regulars" there and mentioning our need. Thank you to everyone who participated-just WOW!

The FDA has approved a second drug to treat ALS. The first drug, Rilutek (or Riluzole) was approved 12/12/1995. We have been on this drug since March 2016. On Friday, May 5, 2017, the second drug, called Radicava (edaravone) was approved.

We will have to wait for availability, Emory developing a protocol, and insurance. We expected a June approval, but very glad it is happening quicker than expected. 20+ years....CRAZY!
