Hospital day #5

Today, stitches got removed from the trach site. The tidal volume (normal volume of air displaced between normal inhalation and exhalation) was lowered slightly because of the slightly low ABG levels from yesterday. We went off the unit again to the bridge because of the weather. It was low 50s in Atlanta, cloudy, and rainy. We got some supplies put together, just in case there is a delivery delay. Really, there are no updates. We are staying here in the hospital until Monday because of the at home care. We are in the ICU, not because it is needed, but because they are the only type of unit that handles trachs, no matter if it is our equipment or not.

I'll stop with the daily updates....unless there is a change. For the most part, we are just hanging out.

THANK YOU for all the love, support, prayers, thoughts, texts, and messages. It means the world to us to have so much love out there. Sometimes we think we are great and OK to do it all on by ourselves, but it is simply not true. Even if we are physically alone, we are truly never alone because of all the support. It has been amazing having my mom here all week, and we look forward to having Jason's parents with us on Sunday, in preps for discharge. THANK YOU!

Happy 5th Birthday to our niece, Emma

AND

Happy cinco de Mayo!
