Happy one year to us :)

We have had a few things going on surrounding our anniversary, including the trip to Disney and PEG placement, so it did not turn out to be what a couple normally has in mind. After Disney, Jason's parents, Diana and Jude, flew to Atlanta from Orlando to spend the weekend with us, just in case things didn't go as expected. Also on Thursday, my sister, brother-in-law, and 2 nieces (Suzanne, Thommy, Abigail, and Olivia) drove from North Carolina to spend the weekend with us. They were going to a wedding near where we live and the girls were on spring break, so it was the perfect chance to spend time with us.

Thursday, everyone traveled for the day. I made burgers and fries for supper. Friday, while we were at the hospital, the girls played outside all day. When we got home, Thommy and I set up a tent outside so that he and Abigail could "camp out!" For supper, Suzanne made salads and lasagna-delicious! On Saturday morning, being less than 24 hours out after surgery, Jason watched soccer in bed most of the morning. Jason's mom made french toast for all of us and we spent most of the day watching movies and watching the girls play in with the water hose in the back yard. A home health nurse came to do a review of PEG care for me around 4:30 and Suzanne and Thommy left for the wedding around 5. Jason's mom made steaks, fried potatoes, and baked potatoes for supper while I helped the girls make pizza for supper! We then watched Moana with the girls and had the top tier of our wedding cake for dessert.
As non traditional as our first year anniversary was, it was PERFECT. Spending good quality time with family, having a relaxing day filled with love, and having a few great meals make great memories. Jason also surprised me by making sure I got flowers, and my favorite too....he really is the best!
