For the weekend of March 31-April 3, Jason and I took our first trip with the new van to Tarboro and Beaufort, North Carolina. We have been planning this trip for a while-since we first found out about Beauty and the Beast coming to theaters! We needed a weekend after it came out, when we didn't have company, when my sister Suzanne could plan to be off work, and after we got our van. Needless to say, we were looking forward to it.
On Friday, we drove to Tarboro and stayed the night with my mom and step-dad. It was a long and hard trip. Organization of the van with everything we may need, getting Jason comfortable, figuring out stops....the list goes on. It was a good test run for long trips, because we do have some planned for the summer.
On Saturday morning, my Grandma Frances and David came to see us at Mama's house. My Mama, sister, and 2 nieces went to a matinee show of Beauty and the Beast for a girl's outing (AND early birthday present for me), while Jason and my step-dad watched TV at home.

Olivia is 3, and she did so well. My favorite was when she got restless and wanted to run down the aisle...I went and sat with her in the middle of the aisle-problem solved!

It was worth the wait :)
After the movie, we drove to Beaufort, NC, where Jason and I got married nearly a year ago. Mama, Dale, Suzanne, Olivia, Abigail, and Jackson stayed in the condo, which has a flight of steps that we just cannot do. Jason and I stayed at the Beaufort Inn. This was an early anniversary gift and birthday gift to make sure that we were able to go to Beaufort this trip-Thank you Mama and Dale! We had several meals on Front St. in Beaufort and went by the Boathouse to reminisce our wedding day.

Dale, Abigail, me, Jason, Olivia, Suzanne, and Mama (Teresa)

On Sunday, after lunch, we drove back to Tarboro so that we could visit with other family. Most of my family lives in Tarboro, and to make trips to see everyone can be time consuming on such a short trip and hard on us. SO-everyone came to Mama's house. It is amazing that my Daddy and his girlfriend Joyce, Grandma Lou, Grandpa, Grandma and Grandaddy Murphrey, brother David, and friend JT were all able to come and visit-thank you for making sure to come see us.

Olivia may or may not have stuck her fingers in and licked them several times ;)
Thank you Mama and Dale for making so many accommodations to make this trip as easy as possible on us. There is nothing they missed, from making sure we could get around easy to borrowing the type of recliner that Jason likes. Thank you for the overnight trip to Beaufort. Thank you for making sure the top tier of the cake was saved for us to celebrate on our one year anniversary in a few weeks. Thank you Suzanne for taking off work and bringing the girls to see us several times.

On Monday, the trip back to GA was just as long, but definitely easier. We made it back in time to watch the UNC Tar Heels win the 2017 NCAA National Championship :) Repeat birthday gift from 2005 and 2009-I'll take it!
