Jason:
On Thursday, March 23, Josh and Sarah flew in to visit from Washington. The following day, Tim and Nicole drove down from Asheville for the final few days of their spring break. We didn't have anything specific planned for the weekend, but we had a storm earlier in the week that had knocked down some branches in the back yard. Josh and Tim helped us clean them up, while Sarah and I got a sunburn supervising them. Liz had in mind that we were going on a hiking trail while company was in town to try out my new wheelchair. This trail is about a mile long just north of Lake Lanier, which we live near. We wanted company just in case I got stuck. The trail is in a wooded area and was pretty flat like we remembered, but does have some hazards (rocks, roots) It is definitely something we can do, now that we've tried it. Jackson loves going as well to go swimming in the lake. Josh and Tim cooked dinner of steak, chicken, sausage, zucchini, and squash. Sarah and Nicole made the mashed potatoes. On Saturday, the guys and I relaxed at home, while the girls took Liz out. Josh did some small modifications to our door frames since the addition of the pin to the bottom of my wheelchair was getting caught when I would go in and out. Sunday morning, Tim and Nicole headed back home to Florida. Josh and Sarah made their way to the airport to fly back to Washington Sunday evening. It was great to have everyone here and catch up since we hadn't been together in a while.
Elizabeth:
On Saturday, March 25, the girls treated me! They took me to get a manicure AND pedicure. We then went to a sip and paint class on Saturday afternoon. Sarah treated me to a late lunch on Sunday before their flight as well. The 4 of them cooked several meals and just wanted to spend time with us and give us a little TLC! It is so awesome for friends to give us a weekend and to give so freely of their time and love. THANK YOU!

Also, I learned so much from the pups. With Jax, it is OK to be grumpy sometimes-I can't be too hard on myself. I am who I am, and sometimes I'm grumpy, as I lovingly describe him when he isn't being very nice. With Callie, why can't every day be "the best day ever?" This pretty girl has the best attitude about....everything. Rolling in the grass, sneaking away every 2 minutes, being off leash while "hiking" for the first time ever, playing in the water....I can go on and on :) There is no way she doesn't brighten everyone's spirits that she meets.
