2 days spent on the back deck

On Thursday, March 16, Adie, Nate, Casey, and Steve flew into town for a long weekend. Normally, we will FaceTime or Skype for part of the NCAA tournament, but this year, we were all in the same place for the first 4 days. This is one of the best weekends in sports with basketball for 12 hours 4 days in a row. We all usually have a couple of brackets filled out, and to keep things interesting (for Casey), we decided to make bets on various games that were currently on TV. These basically consisted of guessing the final

point total of the game we were watching and the two people furthest away enjoyed a room temperature Smirnoff from the seasonal variety pack. On Friday and Saturday, we put a TV out on the deck since the guys from Maine haven't really been outside that much in nice weather for the past few months. The guys also did a few small jobs around the house, such as fixing our back gate, modifying a rack in the garage, and raising the dining room

table so I can pull up to it with my new wheelchair. It was awesome to have everyone here for the long weekend. It was a really good time and takes my mind off everything else that is going on. I would like to thank all their wives-Inga, Jamie, and Alison-again for letting me borrow their husbands for the long weekend. I know it can't be easy for them to look after the kids on their own. Thank you to my wife for dealing with the 5 of us for 4 straight days. Also, a very big thank you to our neighbor, Debbie Cook, for making all of us lasagna, salad, and garlic bread the first night all of the guys were here.
