Tiara and Cassie traveled from Maine to Boston, then flew to visit us from March 3-5. Jason, Cassie, and Tiara all went to high school together, and have easily stayed in touch over the years. When they learned of Jason's diagnosis, in true girl friends fashion, they sent us old pictures, which are framed in our spare bedroom, and heartfelt messages. This visit was a long time coming. I think they needed to come to make sure we were well, OK, surviving---they needed to make sure I was taking care of him the way they would! We literally had to do NOTHING for them. They rented a car at the airport (according to Tiara, it was a good omen that it was a Dodge JOURNEY), went grocery shopping, and cooked us breakfast and supper on Saturday. I convinced Jason earlier in the week that he was taking us on a lunch date, but the girls ended up treating us. Tin Lizzy's is an Atlanta based restaurant

that we love and have shared many memories at, so it was the perfect place to go on a date! The midday margaritas are good to help start the hard conversations and settle some anxiety over what questions to ask, how we are truly doing, and bring up some good stories from high school.

Speaking of high school memories, a few weeks ago, Tiara sent Jason a superman t-shirt (and me some beautiful roses). This prompted me to ask about it, and I learned that Jason's soccer team in high school wore superman shirts under their jerseys Junior year.
Pictured is Cassie with Jason and that tshirt.
After a delicious supper, we got ready for the Carolina/DOOK game.
Did Duke Win? GO HEELS!

Thank you to these girls for giving us a great weekend and coming to visit. Thank you to the 5 men in their lives (spouse, boyfriend, kids) that did without them for the weekend. We appreciate ya'll spending the weekend with us!

ALS related: Watching Cassie and Tiara try to figure out the wheelchair on our outing-beyond hilarious! Jason came out in one piece. However, Cassie taught us that the wheelchair has more removable parts than we were aware of :)
